Why massage?

If you are new to world of massage,  welcome! You will no doubt immediately discover a common reason why massage therapy is so popular: it feels great!

Massage relieves muscular tension,  strengthens the immune system,  promotes healing and detoxification,  improves circulation, lowers stress, offers emotional reassurance,  balances energy, improves appearance and increases the healthy functioning of the skin.

Regular massage improves athletic performance and helps prevent injury and illness by lowering stress and maintaining flexibility.

That's a lot of good reasons to try and get massages regularly!

Think about it when we feel good, we're more productive at work, have more patience,  and move through each day with greater ease and grace.

How often do you have someone who is totally focused on you & your well being for 30, 60 or 90 minutes?

Massage therapy with all of its benefits,  is the greatest gift you can give yourself or a loved one.

We specialize in deep tissue and relaxation massages.  Massage is the manipulation of superficial and deeper layers of muscle and connective tissue using various techniques, to enhance function, aid in the healing process, decrease muscle reflex activity, inhibit motor-neuron excitability, promote relaxation and well-being,and as a recreational activity.

Massage involves working and acting on the body with pressure – structured, unstructured, stationary, or moving – tension, motion, or vibration, done manually or with mechanical aids. Target tissues may include muscles, tendons, ligaments, fascia, skin, joints, or other connective tissue, as well as lymphatic vessels, or organs of the gastrointestinal system.

Some medical insurance carriers will cover messages as a treatment if your doctor perscribes it to you.  We can help you to find out if you are able to get some of the cost of your massage covered by your insurance provider.
